As I said on the latest episode of the Laughspin Podcast, writers, producers and directors are, more and more, utilizing the it-takes-a-village approach to creating quality comedy television. In other words, there’s seems to be an increasingly inflated number of guest stars, cameos and story arc players embedded within many of our favorite full-time cast members on our favorite shows. Allow us to submit Portlandia’s updated list of guest stars for its third season, which premieres Jan. 4 at 10 pm ET. Indie darling Chloe Sevigny will appear on a few episodes as well, playing Carrie’s new roommate Alexandra. And Kyle MacLachlan, Kumail Nanjiani and Jeff Goldblum will make return appearances.
As an added bonus, IFC will air what they’re calling a “pre-premiere” episode on Dec. 14 at 10:30 pm ET, wherein Fred and Carrie find themselves in the middle of a Portland winter, a season never before featured on the show. The episode will be available on IFC.com, the show’s Facebook page and iTunes the following day!
