If you haven’t seen Tim Heidecker’s new film The Comedy (written and directed by Rick Alverson), let me suggest that you do that somewhat immediately. It’s playing in select theaters across the country as well as through Video on Demand services. I watched it through my cable provider, but you can just as easily cue that shit up on iTunes or Amazon. You’ve heard by now that it’s not really a comedy, but rather a character piece, wherein Heidecker plays Swanson, an aging hipster who lives on a boat between Manhattan and Brooklyn. His wealthy father is dying, so Swanson spends all of his time making strangers’ lives miserable and hanging out with his indifferent, drunk, lifeless friends.

And because we love you, we’d like to offer you a great piece of movie memorabilia– you’re very own Comedy poster autographed by Heidecker, himself. Here’s what the poster looks like sans signature. If you win we promise it will not look like this.

And here’s how you get your grubby hands on the thing: Simply e-mail us at and tell us what you plan on doing with this poster should you win it from Laughspin. We’ll pick our favorite response and name that person the winner. You’ll have to email us by 5 pm ET this coming Thursday. Please use THE COMEDY as your subject line. You must also leave your full name and mailing address so that we can send the prize to you if you win. Easy, right? Good luck!
