You wouldn’t guess it from watching the mostly shlocky trailer below, but Smurfs 2 — in theaters July 31, 2013 — is cast full of well-respected comedy types: Fred Armisen is the voice of Brainy, Jonathan Winters voices Papa Smurf and George Lopez plays Grouchy. As for the live action players: Neil Patrick Harris, Sofia Vergara, Christina Ricci and Hank Azaria (as Gargamel) round out the cast. Oh, and Katy Perry voices Smurfette.
We have one suggestion for Sony: for the second trailer, please include more than three seconds of NPH!
