One week after the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT and just hours after NRA president Wayne LaPierre declared, “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” a video starring dozens of comedians and Hollywood A-Listers, wherein they address their concerns about increasing gun violence in America, has been released. Chris Rock, Aziz Ansari, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Garner, Conan O’Brien, Rashida Jones (pictured above), Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman, Jon Hamm and many more simply ask the question: how many more mass shootings need to occur before we tighten restrictions on firearms? Check it out below.

Interesting how the comments I made moments ago find their way down your list so quickly while the comment made 2 days ago finds it’s way to the top.

Further, it is interesting that comments are disabled at the original YouTube video link so people who wish to use their First Amendment rights in order to speak out against these celebrities and their hypocrisy have no voice at all.

This is the hypocrisy we face. They can use their rights while our Liberty is quashed.

And you, moderator, are taking part in it. Will you simply disregard me and delete me, or will you allow my First Amendment rights to stand?

    • Dylan

we don’t touch the comments. stop being a baby. no one’s out to get you.

    Here’s some great legal deterrents…
    Make murder illegal.

Make criminals forfeit their right to firearms.
    Sentence murderers to death.
Oh, they are the law already?
    If only those laws worked.
Infringing on the right of the law abiding citizen to arms for their own protection
only invites the criminal a better, safer opportunity to commit violence against them.

Has anyone thought about how many of these celebrities have glorified gun violence in movies and television shows? How many of them have acted irresponsibly in that regard, showing improper use, etc? They’ve helped to create the culture they despise and I bet many have armed security. And, I’m sure they would rail against any act that would infringe upon their First Amendment rights. I have no regard for their thoughts in this matter. They want to infringe upon my right to self protection but don’t understand that without the Second Amendment, there is no ability to protect the First, or any other including Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

And they all employ armed guards and live in gated communities, just like all liberal politicians. When each of these celebrities writes GUN FREE ZONE on their front doors in glow in the dark paint, I’ll take them seriously.

Where were these celebrities when Chicago endured numerous slow-mo Sandy Hooks over the course of the last year? Do they only care about white children or something?

    celebrities suck. end of discussion.

  • zack

making guns illegal will get guns off the street? thats a great idea! we should make meth and heroine illegal too!

    more laws isnt the answer;
detroit, chicago, and new york have some of the strictest gun laws in the country- yet have some of the highest crime rates.

i love it when sheltered celebrities (a lot of whom have armed body guards) demand for stricter gun laws- and other shit they know nothing about first hand.

crazy people will always do crazy shit. end of discussion. there is nothing we can do to stop it completely. penalizing and harrassing LEGAL gun owners and sane people who actually know what the hell theyre doing isnt the answer. the only new type of gun law that would make sense is to have better background checks and psychological analysis’s when applying for a gun permit. i mean- if you make guns illegal wont stop criminals from using them, and it will not make them harder to get.

    • Bob

I thought meth and heroine were illegal.
Also, this is really insensitive, but if you close your eyes and watch the video, you can pretend it’s William Shatner.

      • Bailey

“I thought meth and heroine were illegal.”
that’s the point. they’re both extremely easy to get and are illegal. he’s saying that guns will be easy to get even if they’re illegal.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=617459752 Josh Homer

I love how the argument has to jump from stricter laws to completely illegal, which is not what anyone said. Yes, crazy people will always do crazy shit, but remember the crazy person in China who STABBED 22 kids and they all lived? Same day as a “crazy” person in CT killed almost 30. The difference if the weapon available.

Also check your facts on gun violence in NYC. You’re spouting opinion as fact, when it’s not.

      • Dylan

thanks, Josh. always the voice of reason. like you said. NO ONE is saying to make guns illegal. people are only saying that perhaps regular people — sane or otherwise — should’nt have access to assault weapons.

        • zack

“assault weapons” are just guns with extra plastic that make them ‘look cool’ and have little functioning difference from non-assault guns

its not like the difference between semi-automatic and full-automatic(which are illegal btw) weapons

          • dylan

we’re arguing over semantics. whatever the CT shooter had? he shouldn’t have had it. so, whatever class of weapon that is — whatever allows someone to mow down so many people in so little time — should be banned. we can agree on that, can’t we?

          • Bailey

I think that we can all agree that that guy needed some serious mental help. People ignored the signs and look where it got them. This really is a case of parental negligence. I mean the gun he was using was illegally obtained by his mom and the shooter was told to get mental help in high school. Why wouldn’t she listen? Why would she buy illegal guns? Why would you neglect your mentally sick child? Mental health is something that needs to be focused on in times like these. Help is available so why aren’t people seeking it out? Because the culture in america makes people with mental disabilities feel unimportant, insignificant, and ultimately makes them try to hide something that’s clearly wrong. Mental health treatment needs to become more main stream and less looked down upon. You’re not a “sissy” if you get help… you’re a coward if you don’t.

      • zack

That conclusion is where most of these anti-gun people are jumping to. There are a lot of places where the gun laws are very strict- here in new york some of the laws are just fucking absurd. The hoops you have to go through to (legally) get ANY kind of gun are ridiculous- the only way to make the laws stricter in a lot of places is to just make them outright illegal- which is what most of these people want.

also i know this is a cliche argument at this point- but most a huge majority of gun crimes are commited using illegal guns- stricted laws wont do a thing; it will only mean that the ‘bad guys’ have guns.

you mentioned the guy in china- yeah he used a knife and there was less harm- but that has nothing to do with this situation. china have a long history of human rights violations and guns are completely banned there, they are a completely different culture with a completely different mentality; child labor is completely fine and they kill themselves for getting a B.
with the logic of knives are less dangerous than guns so we should get rid of the guns- you could say the same thing about cars; you dont ‘need’ a 200 mph sports car- WAY more people die in car accidents than from gun violence, so why not make sports cars illegal too? that type of jumping to conclusions is just unfair- you cant punish the responsible people and make everything a paperwork nightmare just because some people are irresponsible.

Thank god for these celebrities. They’re the real heroes. These brave men and women of glamor are so, so caring.
