Katt Williams arrested, due in court today for separate incident (Updated)
Update, 5:15 pm ET: This morning, Williams didn’t show up to his Yolo County court appointment (mentioned in the story below). As a result, a $10,000 bench warrant for his arrest was issued, according to CBS in Sacramento.
Troubled comedian Katt Williams was arrested last night outside of his Los Angeles home after he failed to show up to a Sacramento court on Monday.
His missed appearance stems from a November arrest, for evading police and reckless driving; Williams reportedly was speeding around the city on Nov. 25 on a three-wheeled motorcycle, including a few runs on sidewalks where he nearly collided with pedestrians. Earlier that day, he was caught on a surveillance camera smacking a 19-year-old Target employee. For that incident, he’s due in court today in Yolo County (next to Sacramento county).
Williams was held and then released after posting a $105,000 bail.
This arrest comes after months of onstage and public meltdowns, including Williams announcing his retirement, on which he later reneged. The 39-year-old was arrested two days after Christmas for child endangerment after police found many firearms and illegal drugs at his home. Williams has four children.
