Although it’s already been announced that both Ricky Gervais and Modern Family’s Ty Burrell will star in the upcoming sequel to 2011′s The Muppets, there’s been little said about what funny ladies would be involved.

But now, it seems that none other than Tina Fey is in talks to join the cast. There’s no information yet about how large the role would be, but the Hollywood Reporter says if the deal comes to fruition, the 30 Rock star would play a “Russian Gulag prison guard.” Let me stop there. Either the Hollywood Reporter‘s source doesn’t get the concept of the Gulag or Nicholas Stoller and James Bobin, the writer and director of The Muppets sequel, have a pretty fucked-up sense of humor (and not in a good way). The Gulag were those lovely labor camps, wherein guards worked people to death under the direction of Josef Stalin. Fun!
