Although we’re not huge fans of beauty contests, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention this cool little tidbit about Miss Montana’s role in tomorrow night’s Miss America pageant. It turns out that Alexis Wineman, 18, is the youngest contestant ever competing this year and she’s also the first contestant with autism. And, get this– she’ll be performing stand-up comedy during the talent portion of the show.
Even better, her routine is about women’s body issues. “Pretty ironic for a beauty pageant,” she said in a recent interview. “I feel like the judges will be able to tell if [I'm] enjoying it as much as the audience is. One thing I’ve always loved doing is making people laugh.”
You’ll be able to see Wineman and 52 other young ladies compete live tomorrow at 9 pm ET on ABC. For now, check out Wineman’s appearance on Fox News.
