Furthering its commitment to progressive comedy programming, the brass at IFC has renewed Scott Aukerman’s brainchild Comedy Bang! Bang! for a second season and has doubled the series order from its first season! It’s true. Production has already begun on 20 new episodes of the insane, faux talk show hosted by Aukerman and infused with sort-of-co-hosting and music by Reggie Watts.

“The show perfectly embodies the type of sharp, smart comedy space IFC inhabits,” said Debbie DeMontreux, IFC’s SVP of original programming. “Scott and Reggie are comedic geniuses and we couldn’t be happier that their television home is on IFC. The A-list roster of guest stars the show brought to IFC in season one, coupled with the popularity of the series amongst comedy fans makes it a great addition to our ‘slightly off’ line-up.”

The first 10 new episodes premiere this summer while the back 10 episodes will begin airing in the Fall. And of course, the podcast from which the television show spawned, still airs on Earwolf.com; live video Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast episodes can now also be viewed on the Video Podcast Network. To celebrate all of the above, let’s watch this cooking segment from IFC’s first season of Comedy Bang! Bang!, wherein David Cross plays Chef Bellini Pastafangu.
