I totally forgot to tell you guys that the second season of Showtime’s Inside Comedy premiered on Monday. My forgetfulness may have something to do with my bitterness toward Showtime for not renewing the stellar Green Room with Paul Provenza, which featured a loosely-moderated discussion with multiple comics, both upcoming and iconic.
Inside Comedy, on the other hand, is hosted by David Steinberg, a talented behind-the-scenes dude mostly known for directing Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, who interviews comedians one-one-one over the course of 30 minutes. The first episode of season two with guests Louis C.K. and comedy icon Bob Newhart will re-air tomorrow at 8:30 pm ET.
But on the new episode airing this coming Monday, Feb. 18, Steinberg welcomes Tina Fey and Judd Apatow. I thought I’d do you a solid and lazily embed some previews below, one of which finds Fey talking about how her oldest daughter sort of grew up on the set of 30 Rock. One programming note/question: Wouldn’t it have made more sense to air the Fey interview last week, closer on the heels of the 30 Rock finale?
And here’s Judd Apatow talking to Steinberg about working with his family onscreen. Remember, comedy fans: Judd’s married to actress Leslie Mann and his two daughters recently co-starred in his latest flick This is 40.
Oh, and because I really love you guys, here’s a pair of clips from the Louis C.K. interview. You’re welcome.
