The new issue of Rolling Stone (on stands Feb. 15) features Girls creator, writer, producer Lena Dunham in a somewhat suggestive pose. According to the magazine’s preview, the in-depth interview that accompanies the cover shoot spans the topics of Dunham’s “struggle anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder, her childhood fear of sex, her reaction to criticisms about the show’s lack of diversity – and much more.

“It’s funny to me that I’m writing a show that people consider to be the voice of twentysomething people,” she tells writer Brian Hiatt. “Because I don’t feel that connected to it all the time.”

We’re looking forward to digging into the story when it comes out on Friday, but for now we wanted to know what you thought of new issue’s cover. Sound off below and feel free to leave additional thoughts in the comments section!

I think the people who dislike this photo are missing Lena’s brand of satire. One of the themes of “Girls” is ordinary women like Lena’s character trying to deal with the female roles imposed by society especially those dealing with sexuality and self worth. The Rolling Stone photo is that of someone trying to emulate the overly sexualized photo traditional displayed on magazine covers. It works on two levels: as a woman mocking the sexual object cliché, and as a woman saying why can’t non skinny large breasted woman be seen as sexy too.

It seems like one in every four posts on this site is about this girl. It’s starting to turn me away from visiting here, unfortunately.
