David Cross’ new movie It’s A Disaster, a dark comedy co-starring Julia Stiles and America Ferrera, had its world premiere just moments ago via Twitter-owned Vine, the new app which allows users to upload videos that run, at most, six seconds. While the flick will be available through Video on Demand on March 5 and in theaters April 12, you’ll be able to “enjoy” a chopped-up version of it on the movie’s official page on Vine. Not only is the movie segmented into obnoxiously short clips, but what you’re screening is a Smartphone shooting the film on a television.
“Jean-Luc Godard once said that he pities French cinema because it has no money and American cinema because it has no ideas,” says the film’s director Todd Berger about the clever marketing stunt. “Well this is certainly an idea.” Public Relations maneuvering aside, this movie looks outstanding, if the trailer below is any indication.
