While Dane Cook has been honing his acting chops throughout the years, appearing in comedies (Dan in Real Life, My Best Friend’s Girl) and dramas (Answers to Nothing, Mr. Brooks), the comedian has just landed his highest-profile bigscreen gig to date. He’ll be voicing Dusty, the lead character in Disney’s Planes, inspired by the incredibly successful Cars franchise.

The film, which also stars former Reno 911! star Carlos Alazraqui, centers around Dusty, who, despite his build, wants to become a champion racer. To that end, Dusty joins forces with an experienced plane in hopes of taking on the race circuit champion.

The 3-D flick will hit theaters Aug. 9. Check out the just-released Planes teaser below!
