As if the casting for Anchorman: The Legend Continues wasn’t already stellar – the entire original cast is back as well as Kristen Wiig! – Harrison Ford has now officially joined the shenanigans. Ford, who joins Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner, Christina Applegate, Luke Wilson and John C. Reilly, will be playing a Tom Brokaw-type television news anchor, according to reports. The sequel to the 2004 flick hits theaters Dec. 20.
This won’t be the first time Ford has portrayed a news anchor. In 2010, he played cranky newsman Mike Pomeroy in Morning Glory, a romantic comedy starring Rachel McAdams.
Adam McKay, whose back to write and direct, has implied the KVWN-TV Channel 4 Evening News team will engage in full song-and-dance numbers this time around, who has also said, “I don’t want to give away too much, but I’ll just give a couple pieces of ideas that we’ve kicked around. Keep in mind we’re still writing the story, but I’ll say one phrase for you: custody battle. I’ll give you that. I’ll give you one other one: bowling for dollars.”
