GRAND RAPIDS — After two days and eight performances, comedian Mike E. Winfield snagged himself $10,000 in the third annual Gilda’s LaughFest national stand-up comedy competition. Winfield and four other finalists — James Adomian, Jamie Lee, Brendon Walsh and Julian McCullough — performed Saturday to packed crowds at Dr. Grins comedy club and 3rd Floor at the B.O.B, as they were rated by both the audience and a panel of judges, which included comedy journalists Julie Seabaugh and Steve Heisler. The competition began on Friday with 10 comedians, including Beth Stelling, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Andrew Schulz, Al Jackson and Cy Amundson. Winfield joins past winners Michael Kosta (2011) and Chad Daniels (2012). Gilda’s Club-Grand Rapids President and CEO LeAnn Arkema and Grand Rapids comedian D.K. Hamilton were on hand to present the check and a plaque to Winfield. Check it out below.
