Funny Or Die has announced its plans to release the very first Steve Jobs biopic. Starring Justin Long as Steve Jobs and James Urbaniak as Bill Gates, the 75-minute flick titled iSteve will premiere on FunnyOrDie.com on April 15.
“In true Internet fashion, it’s not based on very thorough research — essentially a cursory look at the Steve Jobs Wikipedia page,” Ryan Perez, the film’s writer and director, who banged out the script in three days and shot the entire movie in five, told the New York Times.
Michaela Watkins and Jorge Garcia also star as Melinda Gates and Steve Wozniak, respectively. Long, of course, became famous for playing Mac in the long-running Apple commercials co-starring John Hodgman as “PC.” iSteve is the first feature-length effort from Funny Or Die. While the movie is a spoof on biopics, its existence in itself pokes fun of the fact there are already two Jobs movies in the works— one starring Ashton Kutcher and another written by Aaron Sorkin.
