On Thursday, master comedian, actor and frequent guest star/multi-episode arc player on celebrated television shows Patton Oswalt drops by a special one-hour Parks and Recreation. In one scene, Oswalt successfully filibusters a council meeting vote—and does so by pitching a storyline for the upcoming seventh Star Wars flick that lasts nearly nine minutes, which you can peep below.

Not only is it hilarious, but it’s also an intelligent and timely commentary on the age-old, political strategy that recently found Republican senator Rand Paul filibustering the vote for the eventually-appointed CIA director John Brennan for nearly 13 hours. And more recently, on Sunday, Republican Arizona senator John McCain (who made a cameo appearance on Parks and Recreation last season) urged his fellow GOP members not to filibuster a vote on new gun law legislation, a move the party was ready to enact.

Parks and Rec keeps hitting it out of the park! This was so funny, the way Andy was hanging on his every word so he’d know the plot, as if this was a true story for the sequels! I love this show and Patton was as always great!
