Prepare yourself to see more of Amy Schumer (and more posters of Schumer’s censored breasts). Comedy Central has renewed Inside Amy Schumer for a second season, giving it a 10 episode run starting in 2014. According to Comedy Central, the show which is created by Schumer and Daniel Powell (who also co-executive produces along with head writer Jessi Klein), “consistently finishes as the top-rated entertainment show in all of television in its time slot among Comedy Central’s core young male demographics (Men 18-34 and Men 18-24) and is the #1 entertainment show on cable in its time slot among Adults 18-49.”
Written by a group of pros including Tig Notaro, Kyle Dunnigan, Kurt Metzger and Gabe Liedman, season one of Inside Amy Schumer was directed by Neil Brennan (Chappelle’s Show), Steven Tsuchida (The Sarah Silverman Program), and John Lee (Delocated). Appropriately summarized as a show about “the general clusterfuck that is life,” Inside uses a range of scripted and unscripted formats to cover such crowd pleasing topics as sex and relationships.
We hope (and pray) that its second season will feature the same litany of comedy scene regulars like Notaro, Michael Showalter, Lisa Lampanelli, Nikki Glaser and Tom Papa. To celebrate the renewal, let’s check out a preview of tonight’s new episode. Tune in at 10:30 pm ET on Comedy Central to watch the full episode.
