It’s time to blow the dust off some old Johnny Carson interviews. Carson on TCM, Turner Classic Movies’ new weekly series featuring clips from The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson begins Monday July 1 at 8pm ET. Conan O’Brien will be acting as host of the show, introducing five interviews from the Carson Entertain Group’s archives each week. The first week’s interview lineup is Drew Barrymore (1982, pictured above), Kirk Douglas (1988), Mary Tyler Moore (1978), Neil Simon (1980) and George Burns (1989).

Jeff Gregor, chief marketing officer of TBS, TNT and TCM (also general manager of TCM), sees the show as “the perfect opportunity to bring TBS’s popular late-night host to Turner Classic Movies,” and said that “Conan has long idolized Johnny Carson, and he understands what it’s like to be on the other side of the desk. We’re thrilled to have him coming to TCM to share his unique insight and perspective.”
