racy_family_guy_ad_a_pFamily Guy is purposely embroiled in controversy once again– this time because of the release of its latest “For Your Consideration” ad. As part of their Emmy campaign, Fox dropped a Girls-inspired spoof. After last year’s ad, which was rejected by The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, it was no surprise that their ad this year would be one for the books. In spoofing Girls, they are taking a direct jab at on of their biggest competitors for best comedy.

The ad, which can be seen below, depicts Family Guy characters Brian, Quagmire, Peter and Joe posing as Girls actresses Allison Williams, Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke, and Zosia Mamet. The tagline reads, “Here’s a load of comedy to shoot on your chest,” a reference to the Girls second season episode “On All Fours.” The episode mocked was actually surrounded with some controversy of its own for explicit sexual content to which the ad’s tagline is not-so-subtly alluding.
