Tig Notaro is looking to step off the comedy club stage and into someone’s living room– or basement, rooftop, or wherever you want her to perform. It’s all for her documentary set to air on Showtime. This isn’t the first time Notaro is looking to perform in unconventional settings. Back in 2011, offered similar services to help promote sales of her comedy album Good One.
The Showtime documentary is just one of many projects Notaro has in motion. The release of her EP in October of last year — which was originally available on Louis C.K.’s website — helped drive Notaro’s popularity. The album is a recording of her revealing she was diagnosed with cancer. Since that time, Notaro landed a book deal. She was also a staff writer on the first season of Inside Amy Schumer and starred in a field piece on Conan recently.
