On this special episode of The Laughspin Podcast, I had the pleasure of chatting with W. Kamau Bell, comedian and host of Totally Biased, a show that did so well in its first season on FX that it will start airing nightly (instead of just every Thursday) on Sept. 2 on FX’s sister network FXX.

The interview went down in Kamau’s office, which he’s barely decorated in the year he’s been there; he explains why in the interview. And anyway, since the show is now moving offices elsewhere in Manhattan, it’s good that he didn’t. During our interview, we talk about Bell’s fateful meeting with Chris Rock (which led to Rock signing on to become an executive producer of Totally Biased), Barack Obama, Bell’s family, the show’s new season, the concept of rape jokes and so much more.

I should also tell you that Bell and the writing staff of Totally Biased are launching a stand-up comedy tour on July 11 starting in Boston. You should check out for all the dates and links to tickets. Ok, enjoy the interview!

Each week on the Laughspin Podcast, Dylan Gadino and Mike Gogel bring you comedy news, the most recent audio clips from the comedy world and a few laughs (and the occasional special interview episodes). Be sure to subscribe to the Laughspin Podcast on iTunes, SoundCloud or Stitcher.
