Last night, an all-star line-up of comedians came together at Gotham Comedy Club in New York to honor the late George Carlin. “Reverence for the Irreverent: A Tribute to George Carlin” was a fundraiser for the campaign to rename a block of Carlin’s beloved neighborhood in New York City. George Carlin Way is in the final stages of being approved by the City Council and last night was a pre-celebration by comedic greats with a shared love for the late comedy hero. Nearly 200 Carlin fans, some of whom traveled from as far as Massachusetts and New Hampshire, attended the event which featured a fantastic line-up including Judah Friedlander, Kevin Bartini (who produced the show and started the cause for the street naming),Todd Barry, Lizz Winstead, Rory Albanese, Eddie Brill, Nick DiPaolo, Lewis Black and Dave Attell.

I spoke with some of the comedians to talk about Carlin’s legacy. Check it out below.

The show was amazing, the atmosphere was rarified and the martinis were ice cold; all in all, it was a wonderful night!
