After being diagnosed with terminal colon cancer five months ago, Sam Simon, co-creator and current executive producer of The Simpsons decided to give all of his Simpsons earnings to charity. On the May 16 episode of WTF with Marc Maron (clip below), he shared that his doctor told him that he may have three to six months left and that he will donate the majority of the “tens of millions” he received annually. Favoring organizations like PETA, Save the Children, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and his own Sam Simon Foundation, his primary do-gooding goals revolve around aiding the hungry, both humans and stray animals.
