The low-rated yet critically-acclaimed NBC cult favorite Community is coming to Comedy Central on Sept. 15 with a 10-episode marathon running from noon to 5 pm ET. But that’s only the beginning, Human Beings. Starting Sept. 20, the network will run a four-episode block of Community every Friday from 9 pm to 11 pm ET, beginning with season one. And to sweeten the deal, viewers can tweet — using the hashtag #Community — during the premieres for a chance to see their messages on-air.
Community is gearing up for its fifth season on NBC, set to premiere later this year. After being ousted before season four, show creator and executive producer Dan Harmon is back running the day-to-day operations. For Comedy Central, this is the second NBC show in recent years to which its scored syndication rights– the first being 30 Rock. Community centers on a group of friends who attend Greendale Community College and stars Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Donald Glover, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong. It was announced last month that Glover would appear in only five of the scheduled 13 upcoming episodes. Glover recently inked a deal with FX to develop his own series titled Atlanta, in which he would produce, write and star.
