A year before 30 Rock completed its seven-season run on NBC, star Alec Baldwin began a relatively low profile part-time gig as host of the WNYC podcast Here’s The Thing, wherein he interviewed the likes of Chris Rock, Judd Apatow and Lena Dunham (listen below). Now, it seems, the celebrated actor and Capital One spokesman might soon use his on-mic skills in a higher profile situation. A report surfaced recently that he’ll host his own talk show on MSNBC. Citing an unnamed source, Mediaite says, “The so far untitled show will air Fridays at 10 p.m. ET and will feature a large dose of Baldwin’s outspoken liberal politics.” The network so far has not confirmed the reports, saying only, “We’re fans of Alec but we’ve got nothing to say regarding this unconfirmed report.”
