Tina Fey is returning to NBC, unless NBC loses its damn mind

I think I’m not alone in saying that I mourned — and continue to mourn — the loss of 30 Rock from NBC’s Thursday night comedy line-up. Liz Lemon is the spirit animal for awkward, bookish, driven ladies everywhere, yours truly included. Hell, it’s not a night without some night cheese, am I right?

Lemon may be gone from the airwaves, but Deadline is reporting some good news on the Fey Front: Fey is executive producing a new NBC project written by Colleen McGuinness, a fellow 30 Rock writer and producer. The workplace-centered story features on a young woman who endeavors to reconnect with her father and, in the process, ends up with a new life on Fire Island. We may no longer have Jack Donaghy to mentor us, but perhaps this new project will offer similar words of wisdom. Just remember: if it’s after six, you better be wearing a tux.
