Mayor of Rio pretty much bribing Woody Allen to shoot his next film in Brazil

Bribery isn’t just for slimy corporate executives or parents trying to lure their children into the dentist’s chair. No, it can also be used by the mayor of Rio to get Woody Allen to shoot his next film in Brazil. In an article published yesterday in O Globo, one of Brazil’s leading newspapers, Mayor Eduardo Paes said that he will hand over however much is needed to convince Allen. Vowing to pay “100% of production” costs, Paes is willing to face widespread criticism about wasteful government spending to persuade Allen to leave Europe and New York behind.
