Everyone who was disappointed about the 2011 Academy Awards need not wait any longer: the Comedy Central
public humiliation Roast of James Franco airs tonight at 10pm! The stage, which surprisingly was not covered in large murals painted by tonight’s Honorary Guest like his character in This Is The End, was filled with a hilarious dais of roasters. With a line-up that includes Bill Hader, Aziz Ansari, Sarah Silverman, and Jonah Hill, we are sure to hear plenty of outstanding jokes about making out with Sean Penn, complaints about Spiderman, and Jeffrey Ross in cornrows.
Seth Rogen will be the roastmaster for the evening, which should be excellent as we have already seen his stellar monologue chops when he hosted the Spirit Awards last year. A hilarious writer who has co-written some of the funniest movies of the past decade, Rogen will surely pull no punches against one of his best friends.
Don’t think the Oscar-nominated centerpiece will be the only target tonight. Check out another teaser video from tonight’s roast. What appears to be a Passover seder in Los Angeles is actually a line-up of hilarious comedians ripping apart each other’s careers—for the love of the game. Here, Nick Kroll compares Andy Samberg, who left Saturday Night Live to pursue a film career, with his “Dick in a Box” partner Justin Timberlake. I am sure that we will see Andy strike back tonight. Perhaps he’ll remind us all of a nearly-forgotten Cavemen sitcom?
Check out Kroll’s jab below and be sure to tune in tonight at 10pm on Comedy Central for the Roast of James Franco!
