Are you tired of Uncle Larry calling you up with a bad joke he heard at the office? Well from now until Oct. 2, you can bid to have a comedian call to tell you a great joke to support Parkinson’s disease!
Shaking With Laughter, a charity started by former Seinfeld writer Marc Jaffe and his wife, Karen, have declared Oct. 23 National “Tell a Joke for Parkinson’s Day.” Apparently Congress doesn’t declare days anymore, so they just did it themselves. Comedy fans have the opportunity to bid on phone calls from a stellar line-up of do-gooder comics including: Kevin Nealon, Paul Reiser, Bob Saget, Larry David, Peter Farrelly, Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, David Wain, Kathleen Madigan, Jason Alexander, Michael Richards, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Dennis Miller, Dave Coulier, Pete Holmes, Brad Garrett and Penn & Teller (well, it’ll be mostly Penn, but Teller will be next to him making hilarious facial expressions). Comedy fans will also get to bid on a lunch with the director of The Big Bang Theory and a hangout with Michael J. Fox on the set of his new NBC show, The Michael J. Fox Show.
Shaking With Laughter was founded after Karen Jaffe was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and the couple dedicated to help the more than one million people in the U.S. that live with this disease. To bid on a personal phone call from one of these funny people (or any of the other items in the auction), visit charitybuzz.com/shakingwithlaughter.
