Today commemorates the 12th anniversary of the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. When many shows returned to air after an unknown hiatus, every host had to address what had happened to our nation with their own heartfelt monologues. The task was even more difficult for a comedy show like The Daily Show because the event had to be addressed while also putting on a program that lifted spirits and brought laughter. A much younger Jon Stewart blew that task out of the water with an inspiring and emotional opening before delivering a hilarious show. I cannot honor those men and women we lost better than your favorite fake news show host, so I leave you with his words about overcoming tragedy. On this day of remembrance, here is your Moment of Zen.
