It’s only a matter of time before hugely popular comedian Kevin Hart lands on network television. And with a brand new deal, it looks like it may happen soon. ABC has inked a put pilot deal for a series based on the comedian’s life. A “put pilot” scenario means that if the network doesn’t pick up the show to series, ABC will be subject to financial penalties paid toward the production company—in this case, Twentieth Century Fox TV.
The series would follow the lives of a recently divorced couple trying to maintain a solid relationship for their kids. The pilot will come from Community’s Neil Goldman and Garrett Donavan. “Hart doesn’t plan to star but likely will play a recurring role if the series goes forward,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
