After a successful national tour and a run on Broadway, comedian John Leguizamo’s award-winning one-man show Ghetto Klown is coming to HBO. The special is scheduled to tape on Nov. 16 in Newark, NJ at the Victoria Theatre, part of a complex of venues at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The semi-autobiographical show is based on the comedian’s memoir Pimps, Hos, Plays Hatas, And all the Rest of my Hollywood Friends. It’s set for a spring premiere on the cable network, according to Deadline. Arnold Engelman at WestBeth Entertainment originally produced the live show and will produce the HBO version. This will be Leguizamo’s fifth HBO special. His most recent, Sexaholic…A Love Story debuted in 2002.
