Last night marked the premiere of The Pete Holmes Show on TBS. The new late-night talk show was fun, playful, and full of moments where Pete Holmes “breaks” and laughs at himself. He admitted during his opening monologue, which was more stand-up than making fun of newspaper headlines, that most people have no idea who the hell he is. Luckily, as Pete Holmes reminded us in our exclusive interview, “anonymity is power.” In hopes to become the best late night host he can be, he sought out advice from one of the best out there: Daily Show’s Jon Stewart. Check out Stewart’s tips below!

Be sure to tune in to The Pete Holmes Show on TBS Monday-Thursday at midnight EST.
