Seth MacFarlane is coming to Fox! …again! The Ted creator and voice star is bringing another animated comedy to his home network. It’s just in time for Fox after silently cancelling The Cleveland Show and selling American Dad! to TBS after this season. MacFarlane’s new project, Bordertown, has received a 13-episode order to premiere next season in the gap left by American Dad! Their midseason animated show Murder Police was also cancelled recently.

Bordertown is set in a fictitious desert town near the US-Mexico border. The comedy revolves around the daily lives of neighbor Bud Buckwald and Ernesto Gonzales. Bud is a married father of three and a Border Patrol agent, comically representing some of America’s fear of cultural change. Ernesto is an industrious Mexican immigrant and proud father of four. He just wants to work hard and make it in America. The humor ensues when the two families’ paths begin to cross. Knowing MacFarlane, the series will probably adopt a similar brand of edgy humor that is characteristic of Family Guy, Ted, and his stint hosting the Oscars.

Bordertown will air in the fall of 2014 alongside other animated shows The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers.
