Jon Stewart calls out Liz Cheney for not standing up for her gay sister and equal rights (Video)

If you need any more proof that politicians are slimy assholes, look no further than Liz Cheney, the daughter of former vice president Dick Cheney. Liz is currently vying for a Senate seat in Wyoming. Her opponent Mike Enzi, in an effort to pull ahead in the polls (and presumably to avoid campaigning on any substantive issues), decided to paint Cheney as someone who — god forbid! — supports her gay sister Mary, who is totally gay married. Well, Liz wasn’t having any of that. No, no. She made sure she cleared up any misconceptions by going on television and confirming that, like her opponent, she, too, is a hateful piece of shit. “Remember when Dick Cheney retired and we were worried there wouldn’t be a Cheney on television saying awful things?” Jon Stewart questioned on last night’s Daily Show. “There lives another.”

My only question is who’s more horrible– Mike Enzi for implying that supporting equal rights and/or your sibling is a sign of weakness or Liz Cheney for casting aside her own sister. Check out Stewart’s take below.
