Comedy legend Steve Martin took home an Oscar statuette last weekend, although it wasn’t for an Academy Award. The Governors Awards are an annual award ceremony held by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences where Hollywood honors recipients of the Academy Honorary Award, which Martin was presented with on Saturday evening.

The Academy Honorary Award is given for “extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences.” Martin has brought uproarious laughter in countless films such as The Jerk; Planes, Trains, and Automobiles; Roxanne; Cheaper by the Dozen; and The Pink Panther.
