George Carlin’s only child, daughter Kelly Carlin has inked a deal to write a memoir for St. Martin’s Press titled A Carlin Home Companion, based on her long-running live show by the same name. Like the show, the book will focus on Kelly’s relationship with her late father, considered one of the greatest and most influential comedians of all time. “The man you knew as George Carlin, I called Dad. I want to offer readers a rare glimpse of the George Carlin they’ve never seen or heard about before,” Kelly said about the book, due out in fall of 2015.

Carlin died on June 22, 2008 at the age of 71. To get a glimpse into A Carlin Home Companion, check out our review of the show when Kelly performed it at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal two years ago.
