For those of you eagerly anticipating the return of Ron Burgundy in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues on Dec. 18, you may have missed the countless resurrections of Will Ferrell’s Scotch-drinking character in Paramount’s efforts to promote their holiday season comedy. You’ll have another opportunity to catch the man with many leatherbound books when he guest anchors ESPN’s SportsCenter on Thursday night with co-anchor Champ Kind (David Koechner). Senior coordinating producer Jack Obringer commented, “When the opportunity presents itself to have the quintessential ‘Anchorman’ guest host SportsCenter, you take advantage of it. I don’t know how to put this…but he’s kind of a big deal.”
ESPN released a clip of an interview between two greats: Ron Burgundy and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. In the clip, the leader of the Channel 4 News Team asks the hard-hitting journalistic questions, such as how Manning manages to play quarterback so well without having a mustache. The complete interview will appear in ESPN The Magazine on newsstands Dec. 13. Check out the clip with Manning below and be sure to catch Ferrell — I mean, Burgundy — on ESPN on Dec. 5 at 6 pm EST.
