Family Guy resurrects dead character

Warning: This article contains spoilers, if there’s such a thing as spoilers on Family Guy.

For all of those who freaked out and signed petitions, you can relax. Seth MacFarlane and the writers of Fox’s Family Guy appeared in last night’s holiday-themed episode ‘Christmas Guy.’

How did they resurrect the pooch who was killed in a car accident weeks ago? With the help of his new dog Vinny, Stewie uses a time machine to alter the past so that Brian never died, giving the Griffin family (and overly-attached fans of the show) a complete Christmas celebration. However, due to the change of events, the Griffins never end up buying their replacement dog, and Vinny is no more.

The show’s creator, and the voice of the beloved martini-drinking canine, took to Twitter to bash those who believed that the death was permanent.

Although he did remind us the moral of the story:
