Rainn Wilson is moving over to Fox after nine seasons at NBC. Fox has ordered 13 episodes of the crime drama Backstrom. The show follows Detective Everett Backstrom (Wilson), an offensive detective who tries and fails to change his self-destructive ways. He leads a team, the Serious Crimes Unit, through Portland’s most sensitive cases. CBS ordered a pilot for Backstrom last year but eventually passed. Wilson later leaked the sizzle reel for the failed project online before Fox picked it up. “Fox is the perfect home for this fun and disturbed piece of entertainment,” Wilson said in a statement. “I’m ecstatic to be working with Kevin Reilly again and to be on the same network as my frenemy, Mindy Kaling.”
