Fresh off the heels of signing Zach Galifianakis for a new FX pilot, Louis C.K continues to make headlines. Season 4 of his award-winning series Louie will debut in May, network president John Landgraf announced at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour. So, you know, you can start breathing regular again.
The all-star stand-up comedian requested a longer break after his last season ended in 2012. “I want a little breathing room,” he told people. Since then, he has released another HBO hour stand-up special, won an Emmy, played memorable roles on the big screen in Blue Jasmine and American Hustle, signed an incredible multi-year unrestrictive development deal with FX, and started an academy for up-and-coming comedians (oh wait, that one was fake). He’s certainly managed to stay busy!
“Louie has continued to raise the bar and recharge his batteries,” said Landgraf. “I don’t think there’s anyone else in this business who’s produced, starred, directed and edited all but seven episodes…I’m not surprised he needs a bit of a break.” His break didn’t seem to include too much of a real vacation and we couldn’t be more pleased.
