Louis C.K. returning to FX on May 5 with more than he promised

FX asked Louis C.K. for 13 episodes for season four of his critically-acclaimed show Louie. The versatile comedian said, “Here’s 14 episodes, because I like ya.”

He didn’t actually say that, but he did deliver an extra episode of the single-camera dark comedy. After taking a year off, FX announced that Louie will premiere May 5 with back-to-back new episodes. Even though it’s been 19 months since we last saw a new episode of the show, the stand-up superstar has been plenty busy. Since then, he’s won an Emmy, acted in a couple of Academy Award-nominated movies, got cast in a big animated film with Kevin Hart, toured the country doing stand-up, and inked the now-infamous “Louis C.K. development deal” with FX for comedy projects (the first of which is a TV show with Zach Galifianakis). Better start counting down the days until the return of the Emmy Award-winning FX show!
