Lewis Black in Old YellerLewis Black’s latest comedy colossus, Old Yeller: Live at the Borgata is as thick with incisive commentary about politics, Americans and technology as you’d expect. After all, this is Lewis Black we’re talking about. And over the years, the 65-year-old veteran has sort of carved out a massively deep niche– a niche embodied by millions of frustrated citizens of all backgrounds, religions and colors, all of them looking for release. So it’s a good thing Black is so damn prolific– this is his ninth stand-up comedy special.

In Old Yeller, Lewis Black is still screaming for our government to do something (anything!) and pining for something to finally be done about immigration reform and gun control and health care. But there’s also a sort of Zen quality peppered throughout; it comes from a sense of Black admitting he doesn’t have all the solutions and that he’s ok with that. But that won’t stop him from addressing the problems— loudly and with a breed of humor that could never be duplicated by any mortal being.

So we here at Laughspin are majorly excited to watch Old Yeller‘s cable television debut this Friday, May 2 at 10 pm ET on Epix. We’re so excited, in fact, we’re gifting you, dear Laughspinners with this exclusive preview video from Old Yeller. In it, we find Black opining on folks who work from home. According to Black there’s more less than meets the eye when a friend tells you, “Oh, yeah, I work from home.” Check it out and be sure to tune in to Epix this Friday for Old Yeller: Live at the Borgata, filmed in Atlantic City, NJ!
