Saturday Night Live alum Michael McKean will bring his comedic skills to the highly-anticipated AMC series Better Call Saul. The Breaking Bad spin-off prequel centers around Bob Odenkirk’s character, shady lawyer Saul Goodman, before he came to meet the infamous Walter White. McKean is the first new cast member to join the show, with Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks poised to return. He is well known for his frequent roles in Christopher Guest films such as Best In Show and A Mighty Wind. The This Is Spinal Tap actor will play Dr. Thurber, a brilliant attorney who is now restricted by an unusual affliction. Little else is known about the spin-off to one of the most beloved dramas of the last decade. Breaking Bad ended last summer after winning ten Primetime Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Drama Series (and could very well pick up a few more at this year’s ceremony). For those of you who miss all of those great “Better Call Saul” commercials on Breaking Bad, you can see more on Saul Goodman’s website! Otherwise, hang in tight. Better Call Saul is expected to premiere on AMC this fall.
