HBO wants Bill Hader, badly. The premium cable channel has signed the former Saturday Night Live star to an exclusive development deal that would have him create and star in his own comedy series. No word if the deal will effect his gig voicing the evil Dr. Giuseppe Malocchio on Hulu’s original animated comedy The Awesomes, which was renewed for a second season last fall. Hader spent eight seasons at Saturday Night Live, including some time as a writer on the late night sketch comedy show. Since he left SNL in 2013, he has stayed busy, appearing in eight movies last year, starring in The Skeleton Twins opposite former television co-star Kristen Wiig, and will be heard in two animated feature films next year. Whatever it is that Hader’s HBO show becomes, it’s sure to be both hilarious and brilliant.
