Jerrod Carmichael NBC pilot still alive

Jerrod Carmichael’s pilot presentation for NBC has been a much-talked-about project during the bustling pilot season. NBC has yet to order his show to series, yet has not officially passed on it. NBC executives are reportedly working with Carmichael, a fast-rising Los Angeles-based comedian, on a new pilot. The network will have a brief window in which to pick up the show to series. The original presentation was based on Carmichael’s life and comedy.

The comedian is well-respected in the comedy world but virtually unknown to the mainstream population. He quickly rose through the ranks at The Comedy Store and has appeared on WTF with Marc Maron, Tosh.0, Comedy Bang! Bang!, and had a role on the recent Seth Rogen film Neighbors. Now HBO is releasing his Spike Lee-directed special, a rarity for the premium cable channel with a comedian this young and new to stand-up.
