ny11202141745.grid-4x2Ben & Jerry’s ice cream makers have always been a fan of comedy. They’ve released flavors such as Stephen Colbert’s AmeriCone Dream (pictured), the Jimmy Fallon-inspired Late Night Snack, and Neapolitan Dynamite (“Vote for Pedro!”). Now Ben & Jerry’s have announced two new Saturday Night Live-themed ice cream flavors. Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch is based on Kristen Wiig’s awkwardly apologetic character Gilly. The flavor is described as “a combination of chocolate and sweet cream ice creams, with caramel clusters, fudge covered almonds and marshmallow swirl.”

The second flavor, Lazy Sunday, invokes the spirit of Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell as a “vanilla cake batter ice cream with chocolate and yellow cupcake pieces and a chocolate frosting swirl.” These are not the first SNL-inspired flavors from the ice cream bigwigs. In 2011, the company released Schweddy Balls based on the NPR sketch of the same name. Is there a Saturday Night Live character or sketch you wish Ben & Jerry’s would flavor-ize? I’m just thankful they didn’t do a Dick In A Box flavor.
