Jim Norton doesn’t seem fazed about adding more to his growing plate on the newly-retitled Opie with Jim Norton show on SiriusXM radio. The raunchy stand-up comedian is launching a new mini-series on Vice.com. The Jim Norton Show will mix in stand-up bits, guest comedians and in-depth uncut interviews shot in front of a live audience. “I wanted to do a talk show that reminded me of the old school ones I loved as a kid,” he said, noting he wants to avoid the “fake enthusiasm” and “sound bite-driven conversations” typical of some modern talk shows. “I also wanted to do a monologue that represented my stand up sensibilities and not have to worry about it being ‘family friendly.’ Because I’m not family friendly.”

The series will premiere next week on Wednesday, July 23. Some of his guests already slated to appear are ex-boxer Mike Tyson, Dana White, and “Freeway” Rick Ross. Norton has recently been in the news for comments about friend Anthony Cumia after the radio host was fired from Opie & Anthony earlier this month. Since then his name has entered into the show’s title as he continues to co-host with Gregg “Opie” Hughes.
