Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld creator Larry David will make his Broadway debut next spring. Fish In The Dark, previously titled Shiva, is a comedy surrounding a death in a family and a very Larry David-like character. “It might even be Larry David with a different name,” David told the New York Times. “I haven’t been in a play since the eighth grade, when I did Charley’s Aunt. I seem to remember wearing a dress.” Fish In The Dark will be directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro, who won in 2008 for August: Osage County. Scott Rudin is producing. There was talk that this might be the play that friend Jerry Seinfeld was involved with, but David confirmed he will not direct or star in the show. It is not clear yet if this was the “gigantic” project he and Seinfeld were working on back in January or if there’s still an exciting project from the two on the horizon. David was most recently seen in the 2013 HBO movie Clear History. Fish In The Dark will open on March 5.
