Mindy KalingStand-up comedian Mindy Kaling — best known, these days, as Kelly Kapoor on The Office — has signed a huge deal with NBC, wherein she will continue to star in and write for The Office as well as develop a new comedy, in which she would star. The deal lasts for two years and is worth seven figures.

“This is my first step in a Transformers-style way to take over the whole world,” she told Variety. “I’ve only ever worked for NBC, and I’ve felt an enormous amount of support from the executives there.”

As for what type of show she might develop for the network: “I’ve always wanted to do another show about women,” Kaling says.
